This month’s
featured website review is for one of the great “British
Invasion” groups known simply as The Hollies,
and their official web site, www.hollies.co.uk.
Most of the group members originated from Manchester, England
and came together around 1962-63. Graham Nash,
Allen Clarke, Tony Hicks,
Eric Haydock and Bobby Elliott were
the core members during the group’s hit-making years.
With their soaring harmonies and catchy pop melodies, The Hollies
were among the most successful of the British groups. Although
most of their success was in Europe, they did have a few chart
toppers in the U.S. like “Just one Look”,
and one of our favorites, “Bus Stop”.
Over the years, the band members would change a number of times
though the group would continue to perform. In fact, they still
actively tour today with original members Tony Hicks
and Bobby Elliott as part of the lineup. We
really enjoy The Hollies music and songs like, “Stop,
Stop, Stop”, “Carrie Anne”,
and “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s my
Brother”, are just classic examples of
the type of music that inspires us. We enjoyed spending time
at The Hollies’ website and we hope this review will encourage
you to visit there too.
Now let’s
take a quick tour through The Hollies official website. The
Home page is the navigational starting point to everything,
and it highlights some of the more prominent news and information
that can be found throughout the site ( new albums, latest
press releases, etc... ). The News page
features everything current with the band as well as archived
articles going back to 1997. The Hollies in one form or another
have been going strong since their formation in the early 1960’s.
Even now they continue to perform and have a very active tour
schedule. next>>
