This month’s website feature is www.musicalcomputers.com. Unlike our previous reviews, this is more of a testimonial. As you may know, we have undergone an entire studio upgrade over the past several months and are now using a new studio computer. The heart of today’s studio is the computer, and our studio is no different. When looking for a new computer, we needed a custom built DAW (digital audio workstation) which is a PC made specifically for recording music. We looked at hundreds of places and found many DAWs available.
One day while looking on eBay, we came across a company selling custom built DAWs. Musical Computers was their company name and we were thoroughly impressed by both their products and their pricing. They offered everything we had seen from other places like Sweetwater or Advance Design of Kentucky (Two big names in the industry), but they did it for much less, and backed their products with excellent warranties and customer support. (Customer support is extremely important, and is a strong point for Musical Computers). Sure, we found other companies also selling DAWs for less than Sweetwater and ADK as I mentioned above, but most were not providing adequate warranty protection or customer service. Therefore, we made the decision to have Musical Computers provide us with our next computer and we are glad we did, because the new computer has been terrific. The speed, reliability and raw power have been most impressive, and our new album (in progress) will surely benefit!
How is their customer support, you wonder? Well, when we first received our DAW, we encountered a few problems during the set up process, and that’s very common. These issues were resolved very quickly because of the awesome support at Musical Computers. They helped us through both email correspondence and by talking with us over the phone. Last month an electrical storm came through our area and KO’d many of our studio devices, including the DAW. This was a major set back for us and we had to call the guys at Musical Computers for assistance. Helpful as always, they repaired our computer at no cost thanks to the warranty which backs their products. The people at Musical Computers have been so supportive, friendly and professional, and we’ll stick with them for all our future needs. We have been so pleased with Musical Computers that we just wanted to let our fans know about our experience.
