So
what was it like recording "The Davis Brothers Album”
you ask? Quite difficult to be sure, and here’s the quick
run down. Around 2000 or 2001, we were all ready and anxious to
resume recording our music again. Doing that in a home studio,
was a terrific new option for us that wasn’t available or
really affordable just a few years earlier. That was the direction
we chose. Of course, we would need to build a studio room, purchase
and learn how to use the appropriate computer hardware and software
programs, and then figure out how to record the one brother who
lived in Minnesota. The process was great fun for all involved.
This record is a result of much time, patience and perseverance,
and yes, there were surely times we didn’t know if it would
ever be completed. We did find it enjoyable to
be able to record the type of songs we wanted. From melodic rock,
to California surf music, to Christian music, we had the freedom
to record it all. Although
we started with nothing but a few songs and a lot of passion for
our music, our time and efforts were rewarded with a nice little
record that we’re all very proud to have produced. The
Davis Brothers Album taught us a great lesson,
and armed us with more musical knowledge than ever before. That
knowledge will translate into better and better albums in the
future, because we’ll settle for nothing less. -The
